Baqueira Beret is one of Spain's largest ski resorts and its most prestigious — 169 km of pistes strung across three linked sectors (Baqueira, Beret and Bonaigua) high in the Val d'Aran, on the northern, Atlantic-facing side of the Pyrenees where the snow falls deepest and lasts longest.

Historia

Cómo surgió

The resort opened in 1964 with a single chairlift from Baqueira village at 1,500 m. It grew steadily up the mountain and over into the Beret plateau and the Bonaigua sector, and has long been the winter base of the Spanish royal family, which cemented its reputation as the country's smart ski destination.

Lo que verás

Durante la visita

130 marked runs across all levels served by 36 lifts, topping out at 2,610 m with 1,110 m of vertical. The Beret plateau holds the gentlest, most snow-sure runs; Bonaigua and the upper Baqueira bowls hold the steeper red and black terrain and the off-piste.
