An old Aranese settlement with the Romanesque church of Santa Maria and the ruined tower of the Portolà family; its hot springs have drawn bathers for generations and now feed a public thermal pool.

Yes — Arties has open-air pools of warm (around 39°C) sulphur water beside the Garona, a lovely après-ski soak. A short drive up the valley, the high Banhs de Tredòs (at about 1,750 m, billed as Europe's highest thermal spa) is the grander option.
