A long-established, family-run hotel in the stone village of Salardú — the closest characterful village to the Baqueira lifts. An outdoor pool and garden look straight out over the Aran valley to the peaks, and the ski buses run up to the base through the season — a good-value village base with real mountain views.

Meliá de Tredós

A Meliá-run mountain hotel in Aranese stone-and-slate style on the road up to Baqueira, in the small village of Tredòs. A comfortable four-star base a short drive or ski-bus ride from the lifts, with a restaurant and terrace and the valley's villages on the doorstep.

Hotel Fonfreda

A small, central hotel-residència in Vielha, a short walk from the town's shops, restaurants and the Garona riverside. A simple, well-placed and good-value base in the valley capital, on the ski-bus route up to Baqueira. Rooms run from singles of about 21 sq m and doubles and superior doubles of 26 sq m up to triples of 28 sq m and quadruples of 40 sq m, so families and groups are catered for. Reception is staffed around the clock, and the hotel keeps ski and bike storage, a laundry and ironing service, heating and non-smoking rooms, with parking for bikes and luggage and public parking close by.

Hotel Chalet Bassibé

A mountain-chalet hotel just above the Baqueira base at Cota 1700, in the Nin de Beret area, with an indoor pool and a wood-and-stone alpine feel. Close to the slopes for a ski stay, with the resort lifts a short hop down the road. The hotel puts itself as a four-star at 1,700 m with the Esquirós lift just 100 m from the door. The indoor pool is heated and only partly covered, with an outdoor jacuzzi built into it and a Finnish sauna alongside, and massages can be booked on site — a decent wellness spread for a chalet of this size.

Parador de Vielha

The state-run Parador on a rise just outside Vielha, with a celebrated curved panoramic window looking up the valley to the peaks. A comfortable four-star base in the valley capital — a town setting with shops and restaurants, about 14 km from the lifts by road or ski bus.

Hotel Spa Acevi Val d'Aran

A four-star spa hotel in the centre of Vielha, the Aran valley capital, with a wellness area and a town-centre setting among the shops and restaurants. A comfortable, well-placed base for skiing Baqueira by ski bus, or for a non-ski valley stay. Rooms run from singles and doubles with an extra bed up to family rooms and a junior suite with its own hydromassage tub, and the wellness area is branded the Nuku Spa, with massages bookable alongside the pool and spa.

Hotel Montarto

One of Baqueira's long-established four-star hotels, right by the slopes at the resort base — a comfortable, well-located mid-range choice with a pool and spa, popular with families and returning skiers. It runs three restaurants of its own — La Perdiu, the Viña Pomal wine bar and the Jolonch chocolate house — and its spa offers a thermal circuit and treatments à la carte alongside a heated pool and a fully renovated gym. Rather than walking, guests are given a private transfer that reaches the foot of the 1500 gondola in under a minute. The hotel gives its 2026/27 winter season as 27 November to 4 April.
