Baqueira & Val d'Aran Map — FAQ

How spread out is the Val d'Aran?+

The valley runs about 14 km from the Baqueira lift base down to Vielha, with the villages strung along the C-28 between. The base is compact and walkable; between villages you use the ski bus or a car.

Where is the centre of the resort?+

The Baqueira 1500 base, at the lifts, is the resort hub — most of the ski-in hotels and slope-side bars are here. The villages of Salardú and Arties and the town of Vielha lie down the valley.

How do I get around the Val d'Aran?+

On the ski buses that link the villages with the lift base, or by car. On the mountain, the lifts move you between the sectors. A car is best for day trips to Aigüestortes or over the French border.

How do I get from the airport to Baqueira?+

Toulouse (TLS) is about 2.5 hours, Barcelona (BCN) 3.5–4 hours, and Lleida-Alguaire (ILD) 2–2.5 hours. Drive up via the year-round Vielha tunnel, then the C-28 to Baqueira.
