History
How it came to be
The Pla de Beret is a broad glacial plateau that also holds one of the Pyrenees' hydrological curiosities: the springs here feed rivers running to both the Atlantic (the Garona/Garonne) and, via the Noguera Pallaresa, the Mediterranean — a genuine continental watershed.
What You’ll See
On a visit
Long, forgiving blue runs, the main Nordic (cross-country) circuit, and the snow-park; from the top lifts the terrain links across to the Baqueira bowls and the Bonaigua sector.
How to Visit
Reached by road or ski bus up from Baqueira 1500, or on skis via the lifts from the Baqueira sector.
Best Time
Great in early season and on bright spring days; the sunniest sector
Getting There
Good to Know
Yes — the Beret plateau at around 1,850 m has the resort's widest, gentlest and most snow-sure runs, plus the Nordic circuit, which makes it the best sector for beginners, families and cross-country skiers.
